Nubra Valley – Gateway to the ancient silk route , Nubra valley is fed by the Shyok river and glaciers of the Karakoram making it more green and fertile than other parts of Ladakh. Travelling north from Leh, you cross Warila pass ( open from mid Jul else we use Khardungla both ways) – a very scenic drive through pristine villages and country side to the valley floor of Nubra. On this trip, you spend 3 nights at 3 different villages, each very different from the other. The highlight is visiting the recently opened Balti village of Turtuk and the sand dunes at Hundar where you can take a camel ride on the double humped Bactrian camels, unique to this region.
