Closed to tourists until 1989, the remote Dolpo region of Nepal lying between the Tibetan Plateau and the Dhaulagiri mountains remained a much sought after destination. However due to the remoteness and high permit fees, the region sees a lot less trekkers than other parts of Nepal. On this trek you fly to Juphal and trek through ancient villages to magical Phoksumdo Lake and then continue further towards the Crystal mountains and famous Shey Monastery . Cross high passes , you enjoy the vast rugged landscape of this region and get a wonderful insight into the lives of the hardy people here who live in one of the most harsh environments and yet have preserved their ancient culture as can be seen on this wonderful high altitude remote trek.
