Arriving at the offshore island of Kochi ( Cochin), you are taken back into history as you walk though serpentine, canal lined streets and the island's northwest shore lined with the famed Chinese fishing nets transforming the scene into a heavenly sight under the amber - hued setting every evening. We then go to Munnar, the Scotland of India with its rolling lush green hills covered with tea plantations and trek through this scenic countryside before continuing to the Tiger reserve of Periyar where you get to sit on an elephant to watch the wildlife.
