The twin peaks of Nun ( 7135m) and Kun ( 7077m) dominating the Suru Valley landscape are the highest peaks in the Zanskar Himalaya. Due to its easy accessibility and height above 7000m, this makes it a very attractive climbing peak for mountaineers. The first ascent was made by a French Swiss team led by Bernard Pierre and Pierre Vittoz via the west ridge.
