Return to Delhi visiting Fathepur Sikri. Optional morning view of Taj Mahal. After breakfast we drive to Fathepur Sikri lying 37 km from Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was built between 1570 and 1586, during the reign of Emperor Akbar as an act of gratitude to a penniless saint who made this the capital of his empire and then for some inexplicable reason, abandoned it. This deserted city with its fine architectural beauty takes one back to the ancient Mughal time. Scholars believe that the city was deserted due to lack of water or simply because the building of this city was not a conscious decision. Return to Delhi . Transfer to airport / hotel
