    Drive to Agra via the expressway ( 3hrs) On arrival we check into the hotel. Visit the Agra Fort built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and completed by Shah Jahan. While in Akbar’s time the fort was principally a military structure, by Shah Jahan’s time the fort had become partially a palace. There are many fascinating buildings inside the massive 20 –meters thick walls which stretch for 2 and half kms, Visit Taj Mahal in the evening.The most famous Moghal monument and one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the lady of the Taj.It has been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love
  • Day 2
    Return to Delhi visiting Fathepur Sikri. Optional morning view of Taj Mahal. After breakfast we drive to Fathepur Sikri lying 37 km from Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was built between 1570 and 1586, during the reign of Emperor Akbar as an act of gratitude to a penniless saint who made this the capital of his empire and then for some inexplicable reason, abandoned it. This deserted city with its fine architectural beauty takes one back to the ancient Mughal time. Scholars believe that the city was deserted due to lack of water or simply because the building of this city was not a conscious decision. Return to Delhi . Transfer to airport / hotel
