During the summer months, these high altitude lakes are home to a variety of birdlife – bar headed geese, black necked crane, great crested grebes, and the Tibetan sandgrouse.Skyang( wild asses) , marmots, fox, wolves are some of the wild animals that can be seen freely roaming in this habitat. The Changtang plateau is home to the Changpas( nomads) who can be seen with their pashmina goats and sheep. The clear deep blue water of the 27km long Tsomoriri lake looks majestic against the back drop of the snowcapped peaks and the village of Korzok close by.
